Mistaken Point-Fossil Tour

Join Paleontologist, Dr. Rod Taylor on an adventure of a lifetime to Mistaken Point UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will travel back more than 550 million years and stand next to the oldest known, complex body fossils on the planet. During the hike to the site you will have the ocean on one side and beautiful barrons on the other.

Safety Requirements

Guests must be physically capable of hiking 6KM round-trip over uneven terrain, hills and inclines

Closed-toe footwear is mandetory: hiking boots or sturdy sneakers/runner only.

No sandals, hiking sandals, crocs, water shoes, or any open-toes footwaer allowed

Guests must bring weather-appropriate clothing (rain gear, warm layers) and be prepared for cooler coastal conditions.

Bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, and extra socks (footwear must be removed before stepping onto the fossil surface).

Anyone with health concerns (heart, breathing, allergy, vertigo, or mobility issues) should speak with staff before joining the hike.

Staff may refuse participation if a guest is not properly prepared, not physically capabale, or displays disresepctful or unsafe behaviour.
